Dr. Salzman is a board-certified radiation oncologist and has been practicing in the Bay Area, since 1975. He has more than 35 years of experience in radiation oncology in both academics and private practice. He completed his bachelor’s degree at the College of Wooster. He is a graduate of the Boston University School of Medicine and completed his training at Stanford University Medical Center. He was appointed a Clinical Professor at Stanford University Medical Canter. In addition, he augmented his studies with research at Stanford University.
Dr. Salzman’s passion has been Tomotherapy, having cured hundreds of patients with the Tomotherapy system over the past year.
Dr. Salzman is a member of the American Cancer Society, the American College of Radiology and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO). He continues to be a leader in his field and community and is truly dedicated to the fight against cancer.
Valery Uhl, M.D.
Dr. Uhl has been practicing Radiation Oncology since 1986. She has more than 25 years of experience in radiation oncology—in both academics and private practice. She completed Medical School at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center, her Residency at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center as well as her Fellowship in Radiation Oncology at UCSF. She stayed at UCSF as an Assistant Professor with an emphasis and particle beam radiation before going into private practice in the East Bay.
She has extensive experience with various emerging radiation technologies including High-Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy, Tomotherapy and all the cutting edge forms of breast cancer treatment including Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI) and Intraoperative Radiation using Intra Beam. She has been invited to speak at courses in both the U.S. and Europe, and has co-authored several sentinel articles on the treatment of prostate cancer in peer-reviewed journals and on various cancer-related topics.
She treats all forms of cancer as well as benign (non-cancerous) lesions and has a special passion for breast and prostate cancer treatments. She has one of the highest cure rates in the state with a huge Survivorship follow up clinic of men and women whom she has treated over the last 20+ years.
She is also the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology Services at The Cancer Program at AB Summit Medical Center in Oakland.
